Hello. Good question. No, the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor is not designed to detect breaking glass. However, Ring Alarm does have a glass break sensor available (sold separately). The Ring Alarm Glass Break sensor monitors glass windows and doors for break-in attempts. Using AI technology, the sensor detects the sound of glass breaking up to 25 feet. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The door/window sensor only sounds alarm when the two pieces of sensors are separated....i.e., door or window has to open to trigger alarm.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe so. I was looking online for a ring smoke detector and I saw something that said broken glass detector. I believe it listens for the sound of glass being broken, like the smoke detector does and then alarms. I'm guessing most people are going to break the glass to unlock and open your window or door versus break out enough glass to climb through, but you never know.
