“Can the motion sensor be mounted onto the wall using screws? If not, does Ring sell a mounting bracket that can be screwed onto the wall for the motion sensor? I read quite a few reviews on Amazon of people complaining about the mounting tape wearing off”

Hi Matt. Thanks for asking. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector (2nd Gen) does not have a mounting bracket. Mounting tape can be found on the back of the detector. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and dry before peeling the backing off of the adhesive strip. Visit our support center for more information on setting up and installing your motion detector.
