  • QuestionI noticed there is a 14 piece Ring kit for $329.99 and a 14 piece Ring Pro kit for $379.99. What is the difference? They look identical.

    Asked by Kenn.

    • Answer Hi Kenn. Good question! Ring Alarm and Ring Alarm Pro are both DIY home security systems that work in any house or apartment. Security kits come with a base station, contact sensor, motion detector, keypad, and range extender. Ring Alarm Pro combines a Ring Alarm for trusted physical security with an Eero Wi-Fi 6 router for fast wifi and network security. Unlike traditional home security systems, Ring Alarm Pro also offers optional layers of backup protection to help you stay connected in case the power or internet goes out. By combining Alarm Pro with a Ring Protect Pro plan, you have more protection and more ways to secure your home. • QuestionWhat would I need to convert my ADT system to the ring

    Asked by paul.

    • Answer Hello, Paul. Great question! If your home has existing wired contact sensors from a previously installed alarm system, you may be able to use the Retrofit Alarm Kit. We recommend that you do a visual inspection of the sensors and wiring around your home and consult a licensed electrician or professional alarm installer to help you inspect and test the wiring. This will ensure that the existing contact sensor zones are complete, closed circuits. • QuestionIs this a second generation kit? I notice there is a 9-piece kit that is second generation but not a 14-piece kit.

    Asked by Gooner07.

    • Answer Hello Gooner07, Great question! No, the Ring Alarm Pro 14-piece Kit is not the Ring Alarm (2nd Generation). The Alarm Pro Base Station includes both Z-Wave and Wi-Fi 6 technology, so you can customize your Alarm Pro experience by adding Ring Video Doorbells, cameras, and Ring Alarm security devices, as well as smart home accessories like compatible smart locks. Ring Alarm Pro has a built-in eero Wi-Fi 6 router that connects directly to your modem, while the Ring Alarm (2nd Generation) does not include the router functionality. Here are helpful support articles regarding both of these Ring devices: Ring Alarm Pro: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404638571796 Ring Alarm (2nd Generation): https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040149572-FAQs-about-Ring-Alarm-2nd-generation- We invite you to reach out at https://community.ring.com/ if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Alarm pre-purchase question. • QuestionIf I already have a Eero router and mesh system should I be looking at Ring Gen 2?

    Asked by KJOL.

    • Answer It's not necessary, but a plus because the base station plugs directly into your router via ethernet, then the ring devices all connect to the base station. This separates your ring system from your remaining devices for a more reliable connection to the web.
