  • QuestionIs the included Eero router compatible with my existing Eero routers/network? Additionally, is there a limit to the number of devices which can be added to this system (ie. Ring door bell, additional motion sensors, Ring outdoor cameras, etc.)? Thank you.

    Asked by Woody150.

    • Answer Hello Woody150, Great question! Ring Alarm Pro is designed to be used as a router, rather than as a wifi extender for another router, as using Ring Alarm Pro as an extender may impact your ability to utilize the 24/7 Backup Internet or the Ring Power Pack. If you already have eero devices throughout your home, the process is pretty simple. First, remove your existing eero devices using the eero app. Next, set up your Ring Alarm Pro in the Ring app, which will guide you to further setup instructions in the eero app. Make sure to add it as a “Gateway” or primary router. When that’s finished, you can use the eero app to add your other eero devices as Extenders. Here is a support article which details the process: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405167720340. You can connect as many devices (maximum of 100 devices) as you wish to your Ring Alarm. • Questioni have an existing ring doorbell pro, can i integrate it to this security kit? If yes, do I have to pay extra if I subscribe to 24/7 professional monitoring?

    Asked by Larski.

    • Answer Hello, Larski. To answer your questions, yes, you can integrate the Ring Video Doorbell Pro with the Ring Alarm Security System. Here is a helpful article about linking your devices together for enhanced security: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035485411--Linked-Devices-Automatically-Record-on-Cameras-when-Alarm-is-Triggered. Regarding your question about 24/7 professional monitoring, the Ring Protect Plans are an optional subscription that gives you access to paid features for Ring devices such as doorbells, cameras, and alarms. With a Ring Protect Plan, you can save, review, and share video recordings from your Ring devices to your Ring account. Professional monitoring is included in the Ring Protect Pro plan. Without a Ring Protect Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events. I have attached a help article below that will help you compare all of our plans, to determine what plan best fits your needs: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001671383-General-Information-on-Ring-Protect-Subscription-Plans. • QuestionCan I turn off "Broadcast SSID" with this unit. Thanks

    Asked by MaryBeth.

    • Answer Hello, MaryBeth. Great question! No, while hiding your SSID may be effective in stopping some users from finding and attempting to access your home network, it is actually less effective than other wireless security protocols like WEP. If the goal is to secure your wireless network, the good news is that the eero router functionality only supports WPA2 PSK AES network security. This is the most secure standard currently available. Here is an article with more information regarding this: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/214588166-Why-can-t-I-hide-my-network-SSID-with-eero-.
