  • QuestionI have a stick up cam mounted on my deck but it lacks night vision. How bright would this get if I wanted to put it on my deck to eliminate my night vision problem?

    Asked by Brightness.

    • Answer In my opinion, this should do the job that you want. It illuminates well. It’s not as bright as a flood light would give out, but it’s bright enough to keep the bad guys away.

  • QuestionDoes this work without ring bridge?

    Asked by Kattie.

    • Answer Yes it does. The reason for the bridge is to link other Ring devices together. For Instance, if my motion detector spotlight senses activity, it can turn on my cameras/lights in other places around the house.

  • QuestionCan this light be turned on an stay on till u turn it off? I don't want motion sensor.

    Asked by chasexas1.

    • Answer Hello chasexas1, Good question! Yes, the lights can be manually toggled on within the Ring App. Ring Spotlight is designed to last around a year on one set of batteries under normal use. Battery life is dependent on device settings, usage, and other factors such as the weather. Brightness may decrease as battery life is depleted. Ring recommends using standard alkaline batteries in Floodlight Battery. Rechargeable batteries will work in Ring Spotlight, though they may not last as long as alkaline batteries. Heavy-duty batteries should not be used in Ring Spotlight. Lithium batteries will also work in Ring Spotlight and are recommended when the weather is extremely cold. • QuestionHow long is the battery life?

    Asked by Clovisbassplayer.

    • Answer This light requires 4DD batteries. Mine is about 4 months old now and still have not changed the batteries. It all depends on how frequently the light goes on. You can set up times wen u want it to go on or not. (I have mine off during the day and set to go on with motion at dusk)

  • QuestionI have a semi dark area that never sees full daylight but I would want this to come on anytime in a 24 hour period if it sensed movement. So can I disable the dusk to dawn setting?

    Asked by LJ58.

    • Answer No, but you can adjust the light level that it regards as dusk. I have a similar area the that worked for me. Hope this helps. I think Best Buy/Ring should maintain a database of answers to questions like these. I had to experiment with setting.

  • QuestionI need more light in my backyard on occasion. I don't need the motion sensor option and don't need it to go on when my Ring cameras go on. Can I use this as a light only on my shed and turn on from the Ring app when I need it or do I need the bridge?

    Asked by CK23.

    • Answer Hi CK23. Thanks for reaching out. The Ring Bridge is required to enable smart lighting control from anywhere using the Ring app. Without the Ring Bridge, your spotlight functions only as a standard motion-sensing light. • Questionwhat is the range of the motion detector in feet or yards

    Asked by bullwinkle.

    • Answer Mine detects motion at about 15-20 feet away, and I have mine set on high. My purpose is for my elderly Chihuahua (has cataracts) so when she is outside, she can find her way back. The batteries seem to last a few months, but I have mine set to 3 minutes to give her time to get back. It is a nice spot light for the money and I am totally happy with mine, I highly recommend this spot light.
