What is the purpose of the ring Chime null

If your ring doorbell is not hard wired this will be a nice addition to hear your doorbell ring if your cell phone is on silent. Just plug it in and add it to your app and your up and running. The tones they have are pretty loud, so yoh should be able to hear it through out your house.

The chime is to be used in cases where there are people in the house that do not have a cell phone connected to the Ring. Example, my parents house has Ring and I am not connected to it so when I go to let the animals out while they are away I will never hear the doorbell as they are not home and it is not wired to an inside chime. This allows them to pair it with the Ring so whoever is in the house will be able to hear the doorbell.

The purpose of the Ring: To announce someone at the outside door.

I typically have my phone ringer muted, so this lets me know when someone rings the Ring camera doorbell.

If you’re not next to your phone, the will ring letting you know someone is at the front door
