Hi propertysecure. Good question. Yes, your Ring Floodlight Cam Plus Wired will work when installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. Before you begin installing your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Plus outdoor security camera, make sure that you’re following safety code standards. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have several motion activated floods lights around the Ring device and it does fine at night. I get full color video even at night. In my installation no lights are shining literally directly into the camera lens, still the camera knows the difference between night and day and does fine. My guess is that for you, it will be fine. Perhaps at worst a small blind spot where the light on their porch shines at it. Consider this: a person/thief will briefly block that light as s/he moves in front of it , and your ring device will see normal night vision at that point. Still worth it in my opinion. My ring devices deterred 4 thieves one evening a few months ago. I was traveling and got the alert. You can see them walk up to the devices, look at them and pull back- put a ring video doorbell on the BACK door. No thief expects that and sure enough, it spooked the thieves. I set off the ring sirens as well (from my phone a few states away). Hope this helps!
