• You should try to maintain a minimum 9'+ height when hanging a floodlight. Keep in mind that if too high all you'll be capturing are tops of heads and not faces. The detector range is roughly 30', so hanging it 15+ feet high will reduce the distance the detector will detect motion.

• Hi Pruton, Great question. Nine feet (three meters) off the ground is the optimal height to get the best range of motion detection. With the motion detector parallel to the ground, Floodlight Cam optimized for detecting human-sized objects up to 30 feet (10 meters) away.
