What does peephole mean? How does it work? null

There are several versions of the ring doorbell. This particular version assumes you have a front door with a pre-drilled peephole. The product fits into an existing peephole with the doorbell outside and the battery housing inside.

Most front doors have a removable peep hole at eye level to view anyone standing at your front door. The Ring peep hole installs through the peep hole once the unit is removed. The camera separates in to two pieces with one mounting through the peep hole from the outside while the second half (which includes the battery) is mounted on the inside.
