  • QuestionCan I add this to my rind app to see my dogs location if he goes missing?

    Asked by Apollo.

    • Answer Hi Apollo. Thanks for asking. The Ring Pet Tag is a metal ID tag for pets that attaches to a pet’s collar with an included keyring; it does not have GPS. There's a scannable QR code on the back that links to a digital pet profile that must be set up in the Ring app. The Pet Profile displays important information about the pet, such as name, health issues, medication, and dietary needs. Once linked, any time the QR code is scanned, it will open the Lost Pet Flyer for the pet, which includes critical information from the Pet Profile. The flyer has a Contact Owner button, which allows the person who scanned the tag to make a call or send a text message anonymously to the pet’s owner. For safety and privacy reasons, both the scanner and the pet owner’s names and phone numbers remain anonymous unless either party chooses to share their information to help reunite the pet with the owner. • QuestionDoes the person who finds the pet and scans the barcode have to have the Ring app on their phone to view the pet's profile?

    Asked by AnitajM.

    • Answer Hi AnitajM. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. No, if you find a pet with a Ring Pet Tag you do not need the Ring app to contact the owner of a lost pet. Follow these steps if you’ve found a lost pet: Scan the QR code on the Ring Pet Tag using your smartphone or tablet's camera. If the pet owner has created a Lost Pet Flyer, tap Contact Owner to get in touch. If the pet owner has not created a Lost Pet Flyer, you’ll see the Pet Profile. Tap Contact Owner to get in touch or Leave a Comment if you're logged in to your Ring account. If someone finds your pet with a Ring Pet Tag: You’ll get a notification in the Ring app when someone tries to contact you or leave a comment. Your name and phone number are not shared. Update the Lost Pet Flyer to provide details and generate a Resolved Badge to let the community know your pet has been located. • QuestionIf my pet runs off can I track her live from my phone without anyone scanning the code can she be tracked GPS through the app

    Asked by Kristylinn.

    • Answer Hi Kristylinn. That's a great question! No, the Ring Pet Tag does not have a GPS tracker. Pet Tag is a metal ID tag for pets that attaches to a pet’s collar with an included keyring. There's a scannable QR code on the back that links to a digital "Pet Profile" that must be set up in the Ring app. Each of your pets needs their own individual pet tag and "Pet Profile." The "Pet Profile" displays important information about the pet such as name, health issues, medication, and dietary needs. Once linked, any time the QR code is scanned it will open the "Lost Pet Flyer" for the pet, which includes critical information from the "Pet Profile." The flyer has a "Contact Owner" button, which allows the person who scanned the tag to make a call or send a text message anonymously to the pet’s owner. For safety and privacy reasons, both the scanner and the pet owner’s names and phone numbers remain anonymous unless either party chooses to share their information to help reunite the pet with the owner.
