    • Answer No hardwire, no problem. Battery will work just fine. The doorbell will function the same. Just replace the battery when it’s time. The most important part is the functionality, which is safety.

    • Answer Hello inquiringmind, This model of Ring Doorbell uses rechargeable battery power or can be hardwired to an existing doorbell chime kit. It does require 8-24 VAC (40VA max) and 50/60Hz. DC, halogen, and garden-lighting transformers not compatible.
