I personally stay from the battery versions. with the new stick up cam you can select for 110v or power over ether net. If you use the POE, then you only need to have an external backup battery for your router rather than both. A security system is worthless if you do not have a battery backup for your cameras modem and router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as function they are exactly the same. The main difference is that the battery powered one needs to be recharged from time to time. The wired one includes the option to power over ethernet by plugging the cable into the camera from the router modem, an indoor charger that uses a microUSB, and an outdoor charger that also uses microUSB. I choose the wired version so that I could have more options to hook up the camera. As of right not I have it powered by the indoor cable and wirelessly connected to the network, but soon I will have it switched to powered by ethernet once I reconfigure my network. Also coming soon Ring is going to offer an option to have all wired cameras record 24/7 for added security. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I prefer the power Stick Up cam. The problem with battery operated is after so many 'lives' (like the lithium in our workplace quit working after 3 years of service). It's $250 to buy a replacement( not the Ring lithium, but most rechargeable batts replacements are terribly expensive. So for that reason I choose the power outlet cam. You're good to go. I recommend power cam, turn on your cam & connect it to your existing secured wifi. That's it! Plug & play.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not sure what other differences there are but field of vision is 115 degrees for the battery version as opposed the wired version at 150 degrees.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Wired just means it plugs into the wall. Otherwise it runs on batteries or solar panel for outside. It is whatever is easiest for you. All the types will work on the same wifi network. They all will connect to your network.
