My doorbell was sending "very good" power by simply booking up the doorbell and parts in the box. If your current doorbell doesn't supply enough power then you need to retire it or buy a new transformer. There are videos on YouTube showing how to rewire

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need a transformer, it will work as long as the transformer is 16v. Mine is 16v 10va only and it works fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This should run on normal power to your previous doorbell. I made no changes to mine, just took the old doorbell button off and use the same wires to wire/power the Ring. Was easy to install and set up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It runs off the 16v doorbell transformer that most houses already have and it comes with a power kit you have to install first on your original doorbell chime but they give you the option to bypass the actual chiming part and still use the power. The Chime Pro is a great accessory for this device.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your regular doorbell (in most cases) is already using a transformer. You need to determine if you need a new transformer or not. Older ones are usually 16 volt/10 amp and the Ring Pro requires a 16 volt/30 amp transformer. Find your old transformer (garage, closet, attic) and look at it. It should be stamped on there somewhere. It is simple to replace.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.16 vac 30 amp - is what is suggested by RIng. I suggest that you look at your existing transformer and if in doubt change it. They are relatively inexpensive
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most doorbell chimes require a transformer to step down the voltage to that required by the chime. The Ring video doorbell pro requires a transformer with between 16-24 volts and 20-30 amp output. You should check to see if your existing transformer meets these specs before installing. If you have a doorbell with a hard wired external chime, there is undoubtedly a transformer somewhere in your house. Ring does sell a transformer that is specifically made to work with their products.
