I had an electrician install mine with our Musical Chime. He had to wire in the "Pro Power Kit" included in the box inside my the Nutone Chime box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Ring Pro camera does need the power from your doorbell to work. Ringing the internal doorbell is optional, but may work. The Chime Pro, is the device that is designed to ring on motion detection or door bell press. My suggestion is to contact Ring support, especially 2nd level. They have been quite helpful for me.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Everything I've read online says that the pro, hardwired version is not compatible with the nutone equipment. We are changing to battery backup version of the ring.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We couldn’t use the Ring Pro had to return it, causes it was hard wired. Purchased the Ring 2. So I believe you may have some problems with yours too. Unfortunately, all products need to be compatible to the Ring and with Alexa. Ring 2 works great running on battery and just using the ring ding that comes with the Ring app and the use of the smartphone.
