It doesn't come with a chime in the package unless you bought a bundle deal, but the chime can be purchased pretty cheaply. Depending on your wifi coverage you can either get the Chime Pro or the normal Chime... The only difference between the two is that one has a built in range extender. We have currently 2 chimes one down stairs and the other upstairs. The volume can get loud depending on how you set it up. IN all honesty one is good for most homes. it will also still ring your existing mechanical door bell unit (if setup appropriately) as it still acts as a normal door bell .

When a person pushes the Ring door bell, it will make an audible ring from the unit outside so that they know they pushed the button, this can be muted or have the volume lowered from the app. If you want to add an additional Ring Chime unit you can do that too for 40-50$. Its just a matter of scanning the QR code and adding the new device to the app. The Ring will then send motion and notifications chimes to that new chime as well. You can also control if you want both door bell ring and motion alerts to be audible from the chime or just one or the other. The Chime we bought and put upstairs. We now have two ringers when the door bell is pressed. The original that came with the house and then the new wireless chime from ring that we put upstairs. you can add multi Ring Chime units to the ring app and have literally a ringer in every room, although it wouldn't be necessary as they little unit is plenty loud Hope this helps.

Please try again later.Hi KimAnn, If rung, the doorbell will alert you via the Ring App. If you want to hear the device ring throughout the house, we recommend purchasing a Ring Chime. A Ring Chime is a wireless notification device that can connect to all of your Ring devices. Simply plug it into a wall socket, connect it through the Ring app and you'll get Ring notifications anywhere in your home, even if you're not near your phone.
