My house is facing west. My ring video doorbell worked great when I bought it earlier this year but now I cannot make out an image during the day. It looks like a completely overexposed image.. pure white in the center.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It won't work AT ALL in direct sunlight or if it gets hot outside. Get your money back. I did. It's useless if facing West and gets warmer than 75 degrees.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My Ringer directly faces the West and it does not work well. For example, does not record all motion movements in front of door and i do have the serting on to record motion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend to everyone, not to purchase this device if it will get any sun. The push button will crack. My pro just turned a year old and they said they will not replace it because it’s out of warranty. They offered to give me a discount because I am out of warranty! What crap.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm on my 2nd video doorbell pro due to a cracked doorbell button. I'm about to be on my 3rd due to another cracked button. I've informed Ring that my house faces west with the hot sun directly on it. I'm not sure if the sun itself is causing it to crack or a combination of the hot sun, the button staying hot, then the cold of the night cracking it. Either way, the doorbell pro is not invulnerable to the elements. If this happens again on this 3rd try, I'm going with a different model and hoping for the best. Also, even with the cracked button, normal functionality is still intact.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My door faces West and I live in the West. I have worked my way up to the Ring Pro ( Yes, 3rd model) and ALL have major issues . The Pro rubber button WILL FAIL and there are no replacements available unless you have their full fee service and only for the first year. Find a company that offers a real attempt at a warranty, some offer up to 3 years and NO storage fee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My doorbell faces the afternoon sun and I haven't had any problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has fried from the sun. Cracked the bell button right down the middle. It still works, but I am pretty sure it won't make it too much longer. I am quite unhappy about that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I live in the Phoenix area. A Ring Doorbell Pro was included with my new house. It often failed to ring the mechanical chime, usually at night. At first I thought the 16v/10a transformer did not provide enough power for the night vision so I got a 16v/30a transformer and it worked for awhile. Then I realized that the doorbell chime does not ring when the Ring case is above 125 deg. It faces west and I measured the case in the afternoon sun at 145 deg. (July outside temp = 108 deg.) At night the heat from the night vision LEDs combined with the heated stucco keep the case above 125 deg. until late at night, so the doorbell chime will not work. Bottom line - I'll pull out the Ring doorbell and put on a traditional doorbell switch and install a real WiFi security camera to cover the front door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the Ring Doorbell Pro for 1 year and the button cracked and image is now a bit blurry. Ring said they wouldn't reimburse or exchange. It faces the south and gets sun in afternoon.
