You have to remove the camera and go charge it inside there is no need to remove any battery. Yes the camera comes off easy to take it in to charge. There are special screws and screwdriver so if you don’t have that type of screwdriver you can’t unscrew it.

When you need to recharge the battery, simply remove the two security screws from the bottom of the device to remove it from the mount and bring it inside to charge. It alerts you and starts recording as soon as someone walks up and you can scan the area from where ever you are. The only time that it alerted me when it wasn’t human was A Great Pyrenees dog which is over 100lbs was snooping around. I bought the whole house alarm and hooked everything up to Alexis echo, because I didn’t have an existing alarm and I keep my phone on silence. I’m planning on buying a second one for my front door.
