The security screws are to hook the doorbell up to the base. The security screws make the doorbell harder to steal. Using the wrong screws for this can mess up the unit. You still need to attach the base to the house. Mine is that faux stucco so I had to use concrete anchors (as an example)

Please try again later.Hi Alaisha, The box containing your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 Release) should have included five longer mounting screws, three small security screws, and one extra terminal screw. To get started you will install the mounting bracket using four of the longer mounting screws. Once you have the bracket installed on your home, you will place the Ring doorbell onto the bracket and secure it with the two small security screws.
