How does ring record on video doorbell null

The Ring door bell doesn't record video UNLESS you pay for the Plus or Basic cloud storage plans. Then the videos are stored for 60 days on each plan and they can be shared with others. If you do not purchase a plan then you can only interact with the video in real time on your phone. I will say the video is great quality, I have the cheap Ring at 720P and I can clearly see cars on the street about 20 meters from my door.
