However, with that being said, Ring Video Doorbell is compatible with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi networks operating on 2.4 gHz frequencies. Ring recommends WPA2 Wi-Fi security. Additionally, for best streaming performance, we recommend 1 Mbps upload and download speeds. If the environment meets these requirements you should be good to go. I would, however, keep in mind the amount of activity that happens in the halls of a dorm. This is something to take into consideration as it pertains to motion detection notifications. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They do have a model that is charged by USB and does not have to be hardwired in. It is usually mounted with a plate and screws so I would think you would just need to choose another way to mount that would not damage wall.
