OMG, The instructions completely omit the step as if it’s not already installed! I used a butter knife and it actually pryed off very easily
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming that the screws are not in place (if they are, take them out, for God's sake), you just have to work at it. Get someone with strong thumbnails and strong hands to pry it off for you. That's the technique I used when I (a first-timer) couldn't get the damned thing off myself. Once you've done it once, you won't be so concerned that you're doing something wrong. The instruction booklet should address this, but doesn't.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Small screw on the bottom then slide up
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Use the screwdriver that comes with it. The screw is on the bottom
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There's two small screws on the bottom of the unit. Use the star bit on the screwdriver that comes with the unit to loosen them and the face will slide up and off of the mounting plate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Remove the 2 mounting screws at the bottom.
