The new ones have a better screw and screw drive. Very basic phillips screwdriver will work. The older one I have uses the special tool. I lost mine as well; but I have a set of little tools that have the same head and it works fine. I'm not sure of the size. I bought a pack of 5 various sizes for under $4.00 and one of them worked. A friend of mine contacted RING and they sent her a replacement. There Customer Service is GREAT.
