In my experience the wired devices have a better camera response time and a slightly better overall quality. I have used both wired and wireless for Ella from ring and prefer the wired. If you don’t have a doorbell already wired they do offer a wired plug for power and the chimes from ring work with both

The Ring Doorbell Pro 2 is a wired only doorbell, which means it is not nor can be powered by a battery. This doorbell is compatible with standard doorbell systems, the Ring Plug-In Adapter (not included), or Ring hardwired transformer (not included) with 16-24 VAC/24VDC, 10-40VA max, 50/60Hz. It's important to note, halogen or garden-lighting transformers are not compatible. If you do not have the means to hardwire the Ring Doorbell Pro 2, we'd like to suggest one of our battery-powered doorbells. We've listed those for you below along with the product link on Best Buy's website.
