You seem to have an electric problem too. If the power surge protector is acting up, either its a defected product or were you plugged it in is the issue. Electric wall plugs act badly once they reach a point of its been used enough. And a power surge proctector is a good way to notice if your electric outlet is broken, damaged or getting old. It should sit inside smoothly and tight without falling off the plug or slidding off. How about checking it out? I had a ground issue, thats when i opened the wall outlet and noticed it wasn't even connected. What a lazy job i found inside... but if your wall outlet was placed properly and it still acts up i guess its defective? Ps do not connect this to a UPS battery backup, or the other way around. Both will fight each other for electric stability and CAN START A FIRE because it overheated. A lot of times not enough electricity or too much of it can shut down a power surge strip. In that case call a professional to check out your electricity. It works fine but it may have unnoticeable drawbacks, get it checked for safety sake.
