It will be fine. Surge protector takes the surge before it reach whatever you have it connected to. 2 or 3 prong does not matter.

If a surge hits your wall outlet, it will pop that surge protector before it ever hits your TV. So it doesn't matter what you plug into the surge protector - two prong or three prong (as long as you haven't cut a ground prong off of that electrical line...) - That surge protector is designed to shut down the power so it protects your electronics. :)
