Yes, you can plug your computer/tv in the outlet. The Protected and Grounded LED’s you see aren’t buttons; The PROTECTED light on means it’s working. If it doesn’t light, the outlet doesn’t work. The GROUNDED LED lights when a properly grounded AC outlet is detected. If this LED does not light, somethin’s up with your wiring and you SHOULD NOT use it in that outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Everything plugged in will be protected. If there's a surge in the power, it will be cut-off by this unit, saving anything that's attached (TV, PC, Sound system, whatever). Grounded also means you have a smaller chance of getting shocked by your appliances.

Protected means that the surge protector is protecting your equipment. Grounded means that your equipment is properly grounded (which should be required to adequately protect your equipment).

"Protected" meaning if there's a power surge, your plugged devices won't get fried; and "Grounded" meaning you will not get shocked or electrocuted when you plug in a new device on the strip. If they are not lit up, then you are in risk of having damage done to your devices and yourself.

Protected means that everything you plug into the surge protector will be protected if there ever is a power surge in your home.
