• The purpose of the master controlled outlets is to only be on when the device plugged into the 'Master' outlet is on. This feature is designed for energy savings. If you wish all the outlets to always be on you simply set the 'Energy Savings' switch to off. The switch is item #7 on the Quick Setup Guide.

• No - outlet is not faulty. I will admit that I struggled initially as I thought there was a defect in the outlet, but then I read the instructions that came with the surge protector. Made perfect sense then and everything is great now.
