I have had that problem only a few times with my older version. When this happens it is just a normal bluetooth glitch and all I would have to do is unplug it for 20 seconds and plug it back in. Then it would pair back up and go on without any issues. Also when I say a few times this is a unit I have and still do use every day for 4 plus years running now, so it is very seldom.

You'd need to try another output cable, make sure the power supply plug is pushed firmly into the connector, ensure the off-on button is pushed all the way to the "on" side, and if the problem persists, exchange it and try another unit. Using the Amazon Music Storage service through an Echo Dot, I do get an occasional "hiccup" where the audio is interrupted noticeably for a fraction of a second but, other than that, I've never noticed any problems with it. I write that hiccup off to network traffic / issues as it seems to happen, at worst, once or twice an hour. It's played reliably for over 8 hours a day for weeks during the holiday season!
