I would not mount a tv unless the mount is attached to studs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey Glenn: Not sure if you had this answered but I too have metal studs in my home and used drywall anchors and put 8 in the wall for my 65" Samsung. I weigh about 180 lbs and i was able to hang off my mount and none of the 8 anchors I used are in studs. My guess is your TV is less than 180 pounds so as long as you get good drywall anchors, you should be just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, we used anchors because we were not able to find the studs. It holds great with us
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I want to mount a 55" tv with this using zip toggle bolts. the tv is only 30 lbs. I would think it would be ok. I just don't want to mount the tv off-center on the wall because the studs are spaced so the tv cannot be centered.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think you’d need special anchors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Personally I would not recommend mounting a 50" tv just via wall anchors to Drywall. You can drill into metal aluminum studs. Look into self tapping screws, they will pierce the aluminum stud and thread it for the screw. Be sure to see that this would be capable of holding your specific TV's weight. Which would be provided by the manufacturers specifications.
