If your 5.1 sound system has HDMI ports, then you can plug the Roku stick into one of those ports. Otherwise you will have to plug it into your TV just like a cable box or DVD player, and the sound will play through your Amp via the TV output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a modern receiver, you can try inserting the Roku device into one of the HDMI ports on the back and run it that way. This will require you to always use the receiver to watch anything off the Roku. Another possibility is if your TV has an audio pass through. You can plug the Roku device into your TV then run a connection from the TV audio out to your receiver. Depending on your set, you may only get L/R channels unless it has a optical port so it can pass the 5.1 surround signal as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming you have a hometheater receiver (or processor feeding the amp) just connect the Roku Stick to one of the HDMI inputs on the receiver. That's how I have one of my Rokus.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can't connect the Roku Stick to any audio system unless it has HDMI support. Your best bet is to connect your TV to your home audio system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't connect the Roku to the sound system, you connect your tv to the amp.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have my home theater receiver amp connected to my TV via optical. With the Roku input selected, the audio is routed to the home theater. I have to turn down the TV volume or I get an echo sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your amplifier has an HDMI input, you'll need to plug the stick directly into the amplifier vs. plugging into your TV. The stick doesn't have any external audio outputs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Treat this like any other component. If you have devices connected to your amp and video output to TV, then this would be just connecting it to another HDMI input on the amp. if you connect devices to your TV and use some cable for audio out to your amp, then connect it to a HDMI inut on your TV. Just make sure you select the correct input in either case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can't, connect the audio outs on your tv to the sound system
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your TV is hooked up to your surround sound, 5.1 content should play normally. I'm pretty sure that Roku supports 5.1, but you may want to verify that.
