I purchased a ROKU streaming stick + for my LG Smart TV based on my son's recommendation. It works great. He has a VIZIO Smart TV. I think if you have a Smart TV and a HDMI port, you are good to go.

If you want to have Dolby Digital sound on your home theater, I'd wait for the new Streambar to come out. If you don't have 4K then you don't really need to spend money on the Roku Ultra. Although the Ultra does have headphones that plug into the remote and you don't have to point the remote directly at the device for it to work. It also has voice commands and a button on the console to locate the remote if you lose it. The Streaming Stick+ 4K Headphone Edition has nearly the same options as the Ultra, but you're not going to get the lost remote functionality or a hard wire connection (you have to use Wi-Fi) into your router. If you have no obstructions between you and the device then you won't need to spend a bunch of money for a remote that doesn't need to be pointed directly at the box. If you don't care about all the bells and whistles, then the Roku Premiere (4K), Express, or Streaming Stick (1080p) will work just fine. With all the devices you will want to make sure you can stream your favorite content.
