Roku is an independent company. You can install almost anything on it. You can even install Amazon video. Fire Stick is an Amazon product and amazon limits what you can install. For example: CURRENTLY you will not be able to install VUDU onto a fire stick because it is direct competition with Amazon Video. I have 2 fire sticks and 2 roku sticks. There are no words to tell you how much slower a fire stick is compared to Roku.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In addition to everyone else's answers, I found the Roku to be more reliable than the Firestick. I had a Roku on one TV and a Firestick on another. My Firestick would lose internet service during peak times, so I ended up replacing it with the latest Roku stick.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Two different companies but essentially the same type of device. I like Roku better for a variety of reasons but one reason is that I can get the Spectrum TV app on Roku but not Fire. However, both have all of the main apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc. Check which apps each has to make sure they have the ones you are looking for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried a fire stick but was not happy with it. Roku was better for me with Spectrum app and local channels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The differences are minor except in specific cases of various apps being compatible.
