Exiting out of the current program streaming channel by hitting the HOME button should stop the streaming. I also turned on the background in settings so that it will use that as a screensaver and not stream any content. Adding Themes can help with this. There are many short tutorial videos that can be reviewed and offer quick help by looking up this same question in Google.
