Q: QuestionWould this system work with online platforms? For example, I am a teacher and have to teach students in person while having students online on Google meet. If I bought this, would my online students be able to hear me and would I be able to hear them?

• A:Answer Hi there. I am a teacher as well. This would allow your students to hear you but you wouldn't be able to hear them. For that scenario, I used the Anker Power conference instead. I had to teach in-person students and virtual students at the same time. The Anker allowed me to speak freely into it's embedded mic and I could hear students from the speaker as well.

• A:Answer Yes. It is a microphone, and used with the correct software and speakers, can be used quite effectively as a "voice amplifier." But like you said, it does not come equipped to be a stand-alone amplifier.

Q: QuestionWith Fall Semester 2020 coming up I'm thinking that teaching through a mask would be easier with a microphone. Have you tried this on the other side of masks? Presumably I could use the classroom audio system through a laptop (or alone) .

• A:Answer You aroused my curiosity, so I tried it out to see. The quality was poor due to the mask interference Just as it is sometimes difficult to understand folks when they are wearing a mask, the sound was dull and lifeless. I'm guessing that's why so many times you see folks remove their masks when standing in front of a microphones.
