This is just my "opinion". If you are going to mount over your range and you want to use the exhaust fan function , then yes it must be vented. If you are not going to use the exhaust fan function, then you would not need to vent the microwave. We use the exhaust fan and it works great. Wish I had done some more research on lighting feature. They do not light up the top of my range as bright as I expected. I am researching different or brighter lighting options. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it does not need to be vented. It has the option for the fan to either be vented (outside the house) or you can install the included filer the fan will recirculate the air from the fan (inside the house)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We read that it does not need to vented outside. Air on top blows out in room. It is strong air coming out. We were told when always cooking on stove to cut fan on to blow air out. The microwave runs very silently. I have read that fan will be loud. We are okay with that. When we go to cut fan off. It cuts off but has a noise that metal might be scraping. If that is way it should sound we can get use to it. Wanted to make sure that something is not broke or working improperly or taking from light of oven. Being it is under warranty, can we bring in a samsung technician.
