Probably because each of the 8,294,400 pixels has to be placed by hand and each pixel has 3 subpixels one red, one blue, and one green LED. One bad subpixel pixel, they have to start all over and throw out the bad one. Currently there are no machines I am aware of that can manufacture microLEDs en-mass.

To put it into perspective, when oled technology came out say 9-10 years ago, a 55" 1080p curved lg oled with none of the features we have today, was $1499.99 If you do the math, and scale the size up to the 97" oleds that are available today, the pricing adds up. Hate to say it, but it will take 7-10 years before they come down to oled prices we see today. Also, micro led gives you perfect black levels like oled, but can hit 5000+ nits peak brightness.
