In Northern Ohio it is not recommended for winter use. There are fridges and freezers that are designed for cold spaces but they probably are sold commercially for restaurants, etc. I googled the question and this is one of the answers: 'Yes, people run fridges in unheated spaces—such as garages—but those who get away with it are lucky.
