You would only have to move it forward if you configure it to vent internally through the charcoal filter. The extra two inches should not be a problem if you're venting to the outdoors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Linn, Samsung Over the Range Microwaves are installed flush with the back wall so they can rest on the mounting bracket which attaches to the wall; they also attach to the cabinet above it. The front 2-3" of the top of the Microwave is where the hidden vent is located, so this area shouldn't be recessed under a deeper cabinet. The best solution for you might be to attach a section of 2"x4" to the wall behind the Microwave, making sure it's supported by the wall studs, then attach the mounting bracket to the 2"x4". I would suggest having this done by a qualified professional. Hope this helps! Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Building code says no combustible material lower than 30 inches unless it has exemptions to the code.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree with the 2x4 attaching to the studs. I would also add some 1/2" plywood then you would be at 2" to meet the 16" cabinet. also try to cover the entire area behind the microwave so the unit sits against a surface as it was intended. Also most important if there is a cooktop underneath please add some venting material at least to the exposed 2x4 as you will be cooking the 2x4... i recommend using some silicone to attach the metal if you are doing this after the fact. also some black bbq paint to match is nice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The microwave mounts to the back wall, that's what supports it. I would think you could add a 2" board to the back wall then mount the microwave so it is flush with the front of your cabinets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The backplate needs to be against the wall. You can move this forward only if you're building a shelf for it as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the installation guide. I believe you need at least two inches above the microwave uncovered so that the external fan vent will not be blocked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have a plate on the back wall that it attaches to, so you will need to push it back on to that. It will usually stick out about 3-4" past the cupboards on the front side anyway. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to mount the backing plate for the microwave out with wood spacers as the back wall is a big part of how you mount it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you need room for the door to pivot open. If you set it flush to the cabinet it won't open.
