So just an update, it was in the "Cooling Off" or "Demo Mode", there was no indication "OF" and was not mentioned in the manual or troubleshooting guide. I did live chat with Samsung support and was told to press the Fridge and Light functions on touchscreen at same time for 5 seconds and sure enough, I could actually hear compressor kick-in (before it was quietest frigerator I had ever heard, a dead giveaway something was wrong). When I asked why they would ship to customers in Demo Mode, they explained it was for retailers to save electricity on the showroom floor. That makes sense for retailers, but why implement that as a factory default (or more likely, I was sent a unit that was meant for retailer) and of course the installer used by Best Buy didn't check nor knew about this demo mode. Wasted 5 hrs waiting for the refrigerator to cool. For all future buyers, be aware of this if your refrigerator doesn't get cold initially.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bestbuy delivered and installed mine yesterday.. The installer did not turn off the 'demo' mode. Of course, I didn't know what the display meant by showing 'O FF'. The manual has no mention of it. Called Geek Squad; clueless!. Call Samsung support. I was told repeatedly to hold the 'lighting' and 'freezer' touch buttons for 5 seconds. Nothing happened after many attempts. Finally...unplugged the power, held 'lighting', 'freezer', and 'fridge' buttons for about 5 seconds; then the compressor kicked in and the 'O FF' display went away. The key point is to hold the 3 buttons simultaneously; not one after another. Unplugging power helps to clear all settings first. This is the knid of user experience that is so frustrating. Why would Samsung ship a brand new fridge to a customer in store demo mode by default? Geek Squad ought to know better during the 'professional' installation. Both companies should do better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried tech support chat until 2am and then 10am at Best Buy this morning. Nobody could tell me the codes for the demo mode to see if it was off or on. Finally, after many hours somebody gave me the right codes. My model rh22h9010sg is 3 buttons. Hold the lighting, Fridge and Freezer buttons on the display until you hear the ding sound. The "0 FF" display went off and the fridge temps came on. Now I am waiting to see if the compressor kicks in. They said it would take about 5 to 10 minutes and then it would take 24 to 48 hours to fully get cold and freeze. Somebody should have been able to help me much sooner. These codes should be more accessible to the customer. I will respond to this after 24 to 48 hours to let you know the outcome. Please listen to this music while you are waiting...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It did take quite awhile - some time in the middle of the night to fix it's temp display. The ice didn't start for at least 24 hours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine was cold within a few hours. I had groceries in it about 6 hours after it was installed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After 5 hours our refrigerator was cold.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The compressor should kick within a few seconds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm sorry to hear you may be having an issue with your new Samsung Refrigerator. While it can take up to 24 hours for the refrigerator/freezer to cool completely, the compressor should turn on and start to cool after a short time. If the RH22H9010SR were in Cooling Off mode, it would have the letters "OF" displayed in the temperature readout, which does not appear to be the case. I would suggest calling 888-BEST BUY, or calling back to 800-SAMSUNG, to speak with an agent, letting them know if it still hasn't cooled. It's also worth noting that the available temperature range for the refrigerator side is between 34°F and 44°F (-8°F should not be an option for the fridge setting). Thank you, Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because best buy sucks. Our fridge went out and they told me it had a bad compressor. So they send appliance plus out. Ray comes with wrong parts. 4 days later they get the right part but never call me or schedule me to install. I called LG directly and they sent someone next day. Bye best buy, you've lost a customer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry you had trouble. Mine cooled quickly and was accurate.
