My guess is you're looking at the counter depth model vs. the standard depth model. Counter depth models are typically more expensive, I think because of the combination of demand due to their aesthetics as well as the increased complexity of maintaining a reasonable amount of space with a smaller footprint / with design complications like making the door work at counter depth. To be clear, counter depth fridges "stick out" into your walkway less than standard depth fridges, that's usually the material dimension difference.

Please try again later.Counter-Depth refrigerators apparently are a more costly design, this drives me nuts too, but if your refrigerator is integrated with the countertop, using a standard size model it would stick out by at least another 6-8 inches beyond the edge of your counter
