Hi Davo, Thanks for your question. Ice clumping in the freezer can have different causes, and in some cases can be resolved with basic troubleshooting, such as leveling the refrigerator properly, and adjusting the temperature as recommended. Because of this, it's necessary for each situation to be evaluated independently. The Customer Service Teams at Best Buy or Samsung can help to determine the appropriate steps to take when necessary. We appreciate your consideration, Ms. Samsung

I think with any fridge that has the door mounted Ice maker you will have this issue. When you open the freezer door, it will flash a slight temperature change on the ice. On the good side, you get more room in the freezer. I have had both options in the past and I still like the door mount better based on usuable space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine hasn't worked at all yet, so I can't be sure, but I did read that it takes a full 15 seconds for the ice maker door to close, which would let in a lot of warm air, leading to those cubes near the bottom melting some and clumping. Still trying to get mine to fill so that might be my next problem.
