The sides of the refrigerator hold magnets, but not the front

Since stainless steel is made of a combination of metals, some magnetic and some not, the resulting alloy may show varying degrees of magnetism. Generally, the stainless steel used for refrigerators and many other appliances is not magnetic, but this can vary depending on the amount of nickle, chromium and other non-magnetic ingredients relative to the magnetic ones used in the manufacturing process. - Ms. Samsung
