How long does a new refrigerator take to make its first ice
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine started very slowly - first thought it wasn't working at all. You might let it fill up and then see if it maintains enough ice. Otherwise, check your tubing. It will take the water a certain amount of time to freeze, and you may be exceeding nature's limits.

Production may vary depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other factors, so if yours is making less than this, I would suggest checking the following: - The recommended temperature settings for the refrigerator and freezer compartments is 3 bars, though you can raise or lower it depending on your personal preference. Keep in mind that if the freezer temperature is set too high, it could effect ice production. If the refrigerator is too cold, the water lines could freeze. - Is something pressing against the lever that detects when the ice bin is full? The icemaker will not produce ice if it detects a full bin. - Have you tried pressing the Test button on the icemaker to reset it? - Have you replaced your water filter recently? A clogged or partially clogged filter can slow water flow and effect ice production. After replacing the filter, be sure to dispense up to 6 gallons of water to bleed air from the lines. - Is your home's water pressure sufficient? In order for the ice maker to operate properly, water pressure of 20~125 psi is required. Under normal conditions, a 6 oz glass can be filled in about 10 seconds. If the Refrigerator is installed in an area with low water pressure (below 20psi), you may be able to install a booster pump to compensate for the low pressure. - The Power Freeze feature can also help increase ice production by running the compressor for an extended period of time. I hope these suggestions help to increase your ice production. - Ms. Samsung
