About 8 to 12 hours for first ice. I’m guessing that it takes a number of cycles for the water to make its way through the tubing to the ice maker. It will make ice though. :)

When the refrigerator is installed and turned on with the ice maker indicators on the control panel set to on, the ice makers will start to make ice. The ice makers of Samsung are capable of making 10 pounds of ice a day but may hold 2 pounds of ice at a time. We recommend letting the ice makers of this refrigerator model make ice for 1 - 2 days. During this period, throw the first two buckets of ice. Leo
