It turns out that the monitor itself has no speakers, even though your computer itself might tell you there are.

First, you have to make sure that the monitor setting is set to A/V mode (this way it will transmit audio. Then, you need to make sure that the HDMI version that the monitor is using matches the HDMI port + cord that you're using. Audio works fine.

Please try again later.Monitors naturally tell you that there are, "speakers" but what it is, is it's own AUX output thats usually located near your HDMI, DP, and VGA if any inputs. That PC telling you that there is a output to your monitor controls the AUX sound once out to a soundbar or any sort of audio.
