Well, sir this is a "smart" TV - - - that basically means that is has some APPS that you can use to access Netflix or what ever the box says on the side. This TV accept two ways of "internet" - - - either a Ethernet connection or a good WiFi signal, when you go through the setup, you will see how to do all this. You can't go from any computer to the TV. you would go from the modem or router to the TV with an CAT 5e or CAT 6 cable, to get the TV to receive the internet and then you use the APPS to access the movies on Netflix or whatever.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are multiple ways to "stream" movies to the TV: Cable / Satellite: Traditional way. Also supports VOD (Video On Demand) Computer or mobile device direct connect: You must have the correct cables to connect to your TV. Standard cables are a VGA cable but recommended are DVI or HDMI. Your computer video card will have to support like outputs or be converted. Also a separate audio (stereo) cable is needed if not using an HDMI cable. The audio cable would usually be a 2.5 minijack cable or a composite pair (red and white) to 2.5 minijack cable, depending on your computer or TV. Using your computer on your TV is just having TV be the monitor. It can be a second monitor provided your computer supports dual monitors (most do nowadays). You can essentially play TV onto your second monitor exclusively while you work on your primary monitor. Your computer will be actually doing work and processing that TV / movie stream so it won't "uninterrupted". Also your remote becomes the mouse and keyboard. For mobile devices, you need to find the right cable for your device if it is supported at all. Your device is your wired "remote" in this case. Built-in Apps on a Smart TV: Smart TVs will have native apps that will allow you to login to your streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video, VUDU and M-GO. You would just need the TV to be connected to your home network either wirelessly or wired. Streaming TV Device: There are many on the market: Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast , Amazon Fire TV Stick, .... The list goes on. The device would have to be connected to you home network ... usually wirelessly. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/best-streaming-players,review-2140.html Screen mirroring (wirelessly) from a mobile device or computer: Some TVs have screen mirroring capabilities built in ... some but even that may be proprietary. 2012 or later Samsung Smart TVs work best with Samsung mobile devices. Screen mirroring is also primarily supported via a Miracast-enabled TV or adapter (plugs into an HDMI port on your TV) and an Android device (tablet or smartphone). If you have an Apple device, you would need Apple TV to wirelessly screen mirror your Apple device. Now streaming movies and streaming TV shows are not necessarily the same. If you have an account with Netflix (movies and some TV) or Hulu (TV shows), then there is a pretty low monthly price for unlimited access to their library. Others like or Amazon Instant Video , Apple Store, Google Play store, VuDu, and M-Go may not have a monthly subscription but you pay as you view. These can all be more cost effective that cable or satellite depending on your viewing habits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are right...hooking your computer to your tv wouldn't work. You would need to get a smart TV using either wireless or LAN cable from your router or modem. I have two TVs in my house hooked up that way and it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes that will interrupt your computer. The best past is to purchase samsung smart tv. then you can connect the tv either with Ethernet cable or the WIFI.. which will enable your TV to stream movies without interrupting your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you stream from your computer you wouldn't require a smart tv however make sure you have enough inputs on the TV to do everything you want..(like if you you need 2 HDMI... 1 for cable or SAT signal and another for computer input??) also it would steal some memory and processing power as it streams...if you don't have a real powerful computer it might lag if you were trying to perform other tasks while streaming....I have mime setup with a cable modem and wireless router...Ethernet cable from the modem to a wireless router then a Ethernet cable going from the router to the TV and a separate Ethernet cable going from the router to the Computer...the router also sends out a wireless signal so I have Wi-fi in the home for all the other devices that require a internet connection in the home such as cell phones, gaming systems, SAT box...Smart TV at living rm..etc..hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We're not sure exactly what you're concerned about. If you have a wireless network, you can connect multiple devices to it at the same time. Computers, Smartphones, Smart TVs.. all can share the same network. You can get a SmartTV, and many apps will adjust streaming quality based on available bandwidth. If you have a specific question, please post it here, and we'll be happy to address it. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --Mr. S
