After struggling with this issue for months my husband finally took the seal under the pitcher rim off, placed a rubber band, it where the seal was, installed the seal back over the rubber band and now it’s working great!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a HUGE issue with this line of refrigerator and the pitcher that is inside of it. I wish there were reviews about the pitcher when I bought it. Mine has been leaking since the day I bought the refrigerator. Yes, I failed to call in during the warranty period because it is such a pain to get to the right departments and wait times while trying to work. Exactly what I thought would happen did, 5 calls, redirected each time and now trying to get through the communication gap with the technical support person to get it replaced is a nightmare. They tell me it will cost me $90 for another. Seriously.....for what I paid for this "Showcase" refrigerator, this pitcher needs to be replaced at no cost. There are many reports about this pitcher leaking due to a defect with it. Samsung get it together, get it fixed and replace the darn pitchers for your customers!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I fixed mine by putting a rubber band underneath the existing gasket. Hasn't leaked since doing this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I replaced the defective pitcher and it still leaked. I solved the problem by using a heat gun on the front of the pitcher and carefully bent it in to create a better seal with the lid gasket. No leaking now. If only I could get my door water dispenser to work. Frustrating
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had this same problem and contacted Samsung for a replacement pitcher (am still in warranty), otherwise purchasing the replacement is $90. Apparently this is a common issue, so common Samsung has a troubleshooting page. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001852/#leaks-from-the-autofill-water-pitcher Samsung community reports this pretty commonly: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Kitchen-and-Family-Hub/Auto-Fill-Water-Pitcher-Leaks/td-p/1382114
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Our water pitcher had that annoying leak from day 1, so we contacted customer service for a replacement. Well, that one arrived last night and also leaked. The good news is that the rubber band trick and it worked perfectly! No more leaky water pitcher!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We are on our 3rd replacement pitcher, and all have leaked. The last one lasted about 2 weeks before leaking. We only use it for water, as we love how fast it is to fill up kids sports bottles with it vs. the door water filler! We ended up putting surgical type tape around the leaking part and that works but when refilling my guests water glass at the table it looks super cheap so called in again and they are sending a technician out to actually look at it?! I could send a video of it, but hey it's their dime. If you get this refrigerator (we have had no issues with it and LOVE the capacity) make sure to get extended warranty, we got Geek Squad for 5 more years. If the next one is still defective we can keep on getting replacements but what a pain! Please Samsung, correct the leaky seal on your future models!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seems to be a design flaw - answer is to improve the seal: 1. gently remove the existing rubber gasket 2. wrap 1/2 inch white plumbers sealing thread tape around gasket indentation 5 times, then put rubber gasket over the threading 3. Use clear waterproof sealing tape - 4 inches tape over the top of the front of the pitcher - 2 layers. The 1st 2 steps worked for a few days, then started leaking again- the 3rd steps seems to have solved it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I added a rubber band on top of the seal, and it seems to work for now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried the rubber band suggestion and it worked great. No more leaking.
