I found the answer elsewhere online as it seems to be another common problem with this piece of garbage. The ice-maker was completely cleaned of everything including ice/frost. There's a white piece of plastic with 2 screws towards the top of the unit. Remove the 2 screws and plastic. Slide back in. Didn't think I could hate this piece of junk anymore than I did while defrosting it and listening to it continually beep in defrost mode -- then it came time to slide that sucker back in. I want the hours of my life back.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you'd think the rod (1) would not be aligning or the guidance peg (2). however in my case the freezing element hanging from the ceiling in the ice compartment is hitting the tray (3). Very easy check: remove the 2 screws and the tray and see whether the ice bucket goes back in. if it does, install the tray again and push the freezing element upwards (with a stick) while sliding the bucket back in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Had the same problem. You must loosen the 2 screws on the inside of the ice bucket itself. This will allow the piece to drop enough to slide right in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ok - so having/had the same issue. It seems the ice making unit in the freezer section will drop just a bit when the tray is removed. i beleive this is exacerbated when the unit is exposed to heat by a hair dryer. If you allow the unit to get cold, then carefull apply unpward pressure on the ice unit, it will stay in place long enough to slide the ice tray/dispencer unit back into place. Yes, terrible design flaw.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just push the ice button that distributes your ice while the ice bucket is removed and it will move whatever is stopping your ice bucket from being inserted into the right place. Now try to insert your ice bucket - works every time for me - like magic!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.there is a hole in back of the ice bucket you need to ream the hole or file it to make it a little larger the turn auger it will slid right in
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem and finally figured it out after taking it all apart . I used a hair dryer to melt the ice and it warp the edging on the bucket . It thought it issues with the interior but the bucket was the caused . Had to use a flat head to force it back and report a new part . Hope this help someone new .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Tried all of these fixes and even ordered a new bucket wiyh new auger and rod installed. Took EVERYTHING out to bear compartment cleaned and dried all partsand let set out for 30 hours in 80 degree heat to rid unit of all moisture. Put all parts back in until they locked in proper place. Everything looks fine and the new bucket is exactly like the original and looked great. Tried to put bucket back in place and no go that lasr 1/4 iinch no mattter how hard, how easy or how you hold your mouth it will not go that last quarter inch. Push hard and it will just spring back.. i hate this darned refrigerator with a passion. Top icemaker worked only 6 month when new, Samsung service man come once only to steam the ice build-up and it worked another 6 months. We gave up turned top ice off and use bottom ice only. I will never buy another Samsung appliance in my life but they all are made by one company with the same built in flaws. I will gladly pay someone to get this brand new becket back in place. To ?.?,, with Samsung. Nothing made is USA anymore. GE, FRIGIDAIR, AMANA, KENMORE all were American made years ago but all moved overseas for cheap labor and sorry appliances. Bring back our jobs and our quality workm workmanship. My gra grandmother has a Frigidair refrigerator from the early 50's and has never had a service problem ever. Made in USA by General Motors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Here is what is happening. The bucket is too high at the auger end due to moisture that got into the unit floor. There is visible swelling below where the bucket slides in. I believe condensation got in the housing and swelled when it refroze. I videos, but couldn't post video.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I had the same problem as several others did. When the tray is removed, the edge of the ice maker above the tray falls down far enough to block the tray so that the tray cannot be fully inserted back into the ice maker. I was lucky, I just pushed the edge up with my hand and was able to slide the tray back in. However, I'm not sure what will happen next time I have to remove the tray.
