Although the N 5300 has a very bright screen, I don't think it would be my choice for an outdoor TV. It is VERY lightweight and I am all but certain that the components are not built for outdoor environments with heat and humidity along with possible exposure to rain. Best Buy sells TVs specifically made for outdoor use, but they are many times the price of this model. If you can bring it back inside out of the weather when finished watching, it might do OK for you. I have a similar situation on my boat with one Samsung TV in the salon which is almost like having it at home and another Samsung on deck, but under canvas. After watching the one on deck, we take it back below for storage and so far it has lasted 4 years. On cloudy days it is just fine but on bright and sunny days, it just is not bright enough. Your mileage may vary!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think due to the glare it would be a problem outside. Don't have any other to recommend.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Outdoor tvs are much more expensive because they need to be weatherproof. They cost more to design and make, are sold less, cost much more than this. Otherwise, should you want to roll it out on the patio on a cart at times, it should do fine as long as bright sunlight is not directly shining on the screen (glare). Outdoor tvs are a bit rougher and better designed for extreme lighting too.
