A:Answer Mine seems to favor the HDMI input but it may autodetect. On the back near the power light is a button / joystick that is used to configure the monitor. Using the joystick you can select between HDMI and Display port inputs, whichever was used last will remain the default. This monitor also has a mode(PictureByPicture) that allows both inputs to be used at the same time by splitting the screen. This sounds "cool" but in practice you end up with a resolution of 1920x2160 which can be problematic for laptops and results in an oddly skewed display. It does have a headphone jack that looks to be 3.5mm, I've not used it though.
It's worth noting, since I recently went through this, if you have 2 laptops that both have HDMI outputs you'll need an HDMI to Display port cable. I found that cables that do display port from a PC to HDMI on the monitor are cheap and plentiful. On the flip side of that, going from HDMI on the laptop to Display Port on the monitor is not as common and something like 3x more expensive as most of the Display port to HDMI cables are listed as uni-directional(one way) and cannot be used in the most common setup.
